Разговаривая с уважаемым oleg_jurjew, я вдруг понял, что выраженная в фольклоре различных больших и малых народов вековечная мечта человечества о неразменном золотом, неиссякаемом кошельке, бездонном горшке с золотом и тому подобных гаджетах сбылась, причем уже некоторое время назад:

[Information and knowledge] are the only known “have your cake and eat it” commodities, the only extant geese whose golden eggs continue to pour forth even while their layers are being devoured. (Abraham Goodman, 1977)

Information is a commodity which behaves in very unconventional ways. The owner of information still has it after it has been sold or given away. (Michael Koenig, 1980)

Information can be given away and retained at the same time (Harlan Cleveland, 1982)

Unlike other commodities, information remains in the hands of the seller even after it has been sold to a buyer (Ian Masser, 1998)
